Where language, culture, and community come to life!

We’re proud to announce the full launch of the Croatian Supplementary School in London – now offering both in-person and online classes for the entire school year!

Be part of something truly special and help us continue building a vibrant space where children connect with their Croatian roots through language, culture, and community.

Important information

We warmly welcome you and look forward to the start of the new school year!

Here is some important information regarding the organization of the Croatian Supplementary School London:

1. Teaching Model

We will offer a combination of online and in-person classes:

  • Online: Weekdays via Zoom, three times a week (Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday)

  • In-person: Saturdays and Sundays at Ebury Edge Community Hall, 43 Ebury Bridge Rd, London SW1W 8DX

2. Curriculum and Grouping

All lessons will be led by the same teacher. Weekly topics will be coordinated to ensure consistency between online and in-person classes, making it easier for pupils to follow the program. Lessons will be organized into weekly thematic units, adapted for both beginner and advanced levels.

For beginners, learning Croatian is playful and practical — mostly through games, songs, rhymes, and simple stories. The focus is on learning basic words, everyday phrases, and building confidence in speaking.

At the advanced level, learners expand their vocabulary and start using more grammar in conversation and writing. They read short texts, watch simple films, and discuss familiar topics, while also learning more about Croatian culture and daily life.

You may enroll your child in both online and in-person classes. We offer full flexibility to your child to attend multiple online classes (however, they are not required to). For in-person classes, you may choose only one of the offered time slots.

Once we are settled into classes, slight adjustments to the schedule and transfers between groups may be possible if needed.

3. Funding

Online classes are free. In-person classes involve certain costs – such as venue rental and the purchase of materials – and therefore require a financial contribution from parents.

We believe every child should have the opportunity to connect with their heritage and be part of our community. If your family would like to join in-person classes but faces financial barriers, please don’t hesitate to reach out to us confidentially. We will do our best to find a solution and offer support where we can. Your child’s place in our community matters.

4. In-Person Class Schedule

Classes start on Saturday, 13 September 2025.
