On February 28, 2025, the Embassy of Croatia in London buzzed with energy and curiosity at the event "Building Bridges in Biomedicine: Croatia and the UK". Bringing together brilliant minds from academia and medicine, the evening was all about creating fresh connections and sparking innovation in biomedicine—without the stuffy atmosphere!
 

The star of the evening was Dr. Alen Juginovic, who had everyone wide awake (ironically!) with his lively and engaging talk: "The Role of Sleep in Health and Longevity." Dr. Juginovic not only unpacked the fascinating secrets behind sleep deprivation, but also shared fun science nuggets—ever wondered exactly why your morning coffee keeps you alert or why yawning spreads faster than a funny meme?

 

Afterwards, attendees jumped into a thought-provoking panel discussion, followed by a relaxed, friendly networking session. It was the perfect chance to mingle, share big ideas, and explore exciting opportunities to collaborate across borders. Biomedicine may be serious stuff, but this event proved it can also be seriously fun!
